Ethan finished his 2nd Grade year and loved it!
Throughout the school year the kids in the class each had a turn being the "Star of the Week" and they wrote notes about that week's star and then made them into a book.
Ethan's is full of nice compliments like:
"Ethan is as fast as a road runner."
"Ethan is as fast as a road runner."
"Ethan is the sweetest sugar in the world."
"Ethan is bright hearted he is also spectacular."
"Ethan is bright hearted he is also spectacular."
"He is better than batman."
"Ethan is the best friend you could ever wish for."
"Ethan is the best friend you could ever wish for."
"Ethan is responsible for his own stuff."
"Ethan is halaris."
I really loved the one about him being "bright hearted" because that really does describe him.
And nearly every page mentions that Ethan is a mathematician or that he's really good at math and art.
He did a report on the Tree Kangaroo and learned all sorts of interesting facts about them and did a poster for his presentation, he did a really good job and is pretty much an expert on the Tree Kangaroo.
Ask him, he'll tell you all about it!
I also love reading his Weekend News Journal that he kept throughout the year and wrote each Monday about what we had done that weekend. It's fun to see what things are like from his perspective.
And here's a little poem he wrote for Valentine's Day that is beyond awesome:
And yes, he does know what "wookies" are, because I don't know how many times the boys have seen the StarWars movies.

I'm so grateful for wonderful teachers who really put their best effort into what they do. It can't be an easy job by any means.
Ethan is excited for 3rd Grade and has big plans for his summer, hopefully we can fit everything in over the next couple months!
