Turtle Soup
The boys got some pretty sweet footie Ninja Turtle jammies for Christmas and for some reason one of their favorite things to do is stuff pillows down them...whatever it takes to keep them entertained, I guess!

Mr. Squish
Owen has been adjusting to having his own room, going to Kindergarten 1/2 day 5 days a week, and moving for the 5th time in his life.
It's been quite the adjustment, but we are enjoying our mornings together and for the most part he's been handling it all pretty well.
Sometimes he eats lunch in Olivia's high chair...
And he loves to snuggle with Baby Liv at bedtime:
He also makes good use of my tub:
And last week they had PIRATE DAY at school:

Do Not Open Until Christmas
One morning while I was working, this mysteriously creepy gift wandered into the office...it wanted me to come check under the Christmas Tree.
Thankfully I didn't have to wait to open until Christmas,
and it was just what I wanted!
I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream!
I can't remember what we were doing, but this was taken November 7th
I think Owen's eyes were bigger than his tummy that day.

Pizza & the PlayStation
I don't know this from experience, but it's a rough life when it consists of eating pizza while relaxing on a pile of pillows and playing the PlayStation.

Owen George is 5!
We celebrated a week early since Jeff was going to be out of town on Owen's actual birthday. The morning started with opening presents in his (almost) birthday suit followed by Oreo ice cream cake and swimming with family. Owen has been asking for a Darth Vader costume ever since the day after his 4th birthday, and his wish finally came true! Careful, he just might use the Force and put you in the chokie.
On July 22nd, the actual day of his birth, the kids and I went to see the new Planes movie and had lunch. Since we'd already had cake and Ethan had Pack Meeting that evening, I wasn't planning on making anything. But Owen's amazing Primary teacher showed up with some yummy treats, so we stuck a candle in one and sang before hurrying out the door for Scouts.
We are sure grateful for this inquisitive ball of energy and the happiness he adds to our family.
We were helping Grandma in the garden one day and he asked,
"Do Butterflies make butter?"
And when he had a fever I asked him if he felt achy and he said, "Does that mean you ate to much?"
He is super excited to start Kindergarten and of course is looking forward to having lunch at school and playing on the playground.

Owen's Chest Hair
One morning Owen ran into my room full of excitement and exclaiming about his chest hair.
You can see it on the right side of the photo...just above his ribs that seem to be protruding and making him look like a starving child (which I assure you, he is NOT)
Turns out the "chest hair" was only a marker smudge and it sadly washed off later that evening in the shower.

Soccer 2014 Season
We had a great time watching the boys play soccer this season and they absolutely loved it. It was nice to see Ethan & Kamden working together since they were on the same team.
This was Owen's first time playing sports and he did such a good job...when he remembered to take his hands out of his pockets!
He even scored some goals, but everyone's favorite part were the after-game snacks!

May The Force Be With You
The boys really love going to Grandma's house...and it doesn't hurt that there is a closet full of Star Wars toys left behind by Uncle Ryan to play with.

Armpits & Muscles
Owen has been busy building up his muscles.
Of course, it's important that you wear a good deodorant before working up a sweat.

Shootin' Hoops
Jeff set up the basketball hoop for the boys several days ago and we've had some nice weather lately and spent a few afternoons out shootin' hoops.

Breast Friends...
Owen is fascinated when I feed Olivia and wonders what goes on under my Nursing Cover. He recently used his chore money to buy his very own Storm Trooper and he does a great job of making sure he's receiving all the nourishment he needs...

Date Night
Before Olivia was born I took each of the boys on a date. We went during the first week of February and Ethan chose bowling followed by frozen yogurt.
Then Owen and I spent a morning at Wahooz where he played video games and won prizes. Then we had lunch before going to Kindergarten Orientation. He was a bit confused by this and thought he was starting "real school" right then and hated going to Preschool after that. He has since dropped out of Preschool.
Kamden also chose Wahooz and won some prizes before we went and had frozen yogurt.
I'm one lucky girl to have so many handsome dates, and they even open doors and (mostly) remember their manners.

It's Time For School!
We've survived the first week of school.
I guess I should say the boys survived, because I've quite enjoyed it!
Ethan is in 3rd grade and Kamden is in 1st, which has been an adjustment for him to go the entire day. The bus driver took them to the wrong school on the first morning and they were all late. She managed to get them home that afternoon but then she didn't even show up the next morning which threw Kamden off and he didn't want to go. I managed to get him in the car along with some neighborhood friends and I played bus driver that morning. The rest of the week has gone smoothly so hopefully there won't be anymore issues with the bus!
The house has been so quiet with just Owen and I at home and running errands is much faster now that it's just me and him.
He starts preschool on Tuesday and will go twice a week, I'll be helping in the boys' classrooms once a week and then have an afternoon to myself each week also.
It's going to be a great year!
Sleep Like A Hobo
The night before my niece's wedding, Kamden & Owen went to stay the night at Grandma & Grandpa Van Leuven's house with cousin Isabelle.
The only thing that could make a sleepover at Grandma's house better is a cousin and being able to sleep in the TV room inside of a cardboard box.
I have no idea how they came up with this, but they colored their cardboard boxes and I guess they were so proud of their creations they just couldn't part with them for the night.
One thing's for sure, it's always an adventure at Grandma's house!
